RS232 WiFi Modem
The ArcaneByte WiFi Modem connects your vintage computer to the Internet using your RS232 serial interface and your home wireless network. Transfer files, connect to BBSes, and more!
The ArcaneByte RS232 WiFi Modem is a Hayes-like wireless modem for vintage computers. It connects your RS232-equipped computer to your home wireless network, allowing you to connect to Internet-based BBSes or local machines using standard terminal emulators.
Dial your favorite BBS using an IP address rather than a phone number. Or, transfer files locally or across the Internet using zmodem or Kermit. If you want to host a BBS, enable the TCP/IP listener function to ‘dial in’ to your vintage machine. The possibilities really are endless!
The ArcaneByte WiFi Modem is a hand-built device that utilizes the open sourced Zimodem firmware by Bo Zimmerman. The device requires 5V over microUSB (not included).
